FILM SCHOOL 101 CERTIFICATE PROGRAM

2023 Application Period is Closed

This filmmaking instruction program consists of a year-long curriculum that focuses on professional video production and industry-standard filmmaking processes and techniques.

The program’s primary goal is mentorship of students, encouraging each to live out their faith boldly in the film and media industries, whether based here in the Mid-South or elsewhere.

Students are trained in every aspect of filmmaking beginning with story development and screenwriting, then into pre-production all the way through post-production.

Students work together over the year to create a short film based on their newly learned skills.

Program Dates

Weekly classes are Tuesday evenings from 6pm to 9pm with monthly Saturday morning elective workshops led by outside instructors contributing their filmmaking and storytelling expertise. During the 3 semester certificate program, students receive over 70 hours of classroom and hands-on instruction.

Sponsorships

We already pour into our students’ lives without asking anything in return and we want to continue that giving by offering this course at no cost to our students. To make this possible we are asking churches, non-profits, and local businesses, to partner with us by sponsoring students at $99/month per student. This gives us the chance to bring our production knowledge to local ministries and faith-centered businesses as we pour into the students they sponsor.

What if I am not selected?

Unfortunately, we are limited to how many students we can accept into the Film School 101 program each year. But we have good news! This is just one program that DAI has to offer. There are plenty of other ways to get involved in what we are doing. Make sure to regularly check the calendar to see what’s going on. Saturday Elective classes are open to anyone, whether a student is in the program or not.
